Telecommunications giant Safaricom is set to hold the first ever Jazz festival in Kenya on February 23 this year.
It will be a week long multi venue event that will end with a family extravaganza at the Ngong Race course.
Officials say that the festival will feature both local and international artists. Its aim is to provide a platform for upcoming Jazz artists and expose the arts industry internationally.
“Safaricom is committed to making the arts industry in Kenya more inclusive and accessible to all by providing a platform for different music genres including jazz.” said Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.
Jazz music first started in New Orleans in the US, but has now grown and spread its influence throughout the world.
