Akothee has a special wedding gift request for her fans who won’t be able to attend her upcoming nuptials.

The celebrity musician will be tying the knot with her fiance ‘Mister Omosh’ on Easter Monday(April 10) at the lush green gardens of Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club.

Ahead of her big day, Akothee said the best wedding gift she could get from her fans is food to donate to the drought-ravaged Kenyans in Turkana.

“There is power in giving. For my fans who won’t make it to my wedding, take me back to Turkana. Go to Naivas, Shop for food, especially dry food. As a gift from you to me, from me and you to the people,” she said Tuesday.

Akothee went on to list some of the food items fans can donate to Turkana through her eponymous foundation’s feeding program Kula Ngoma na Mama Oyoo.

“Akothee foundation Feeding program, sanitary towel drive is back like we never left.1. Maize meal 2. Rice3. Sugar 4.Oil 5. Soap 6. Salt 7. Biscuits E.T.C.,” she wrote.

Akothee at the same time took a swipe at people who criticised her charity drive saying, “The women who were fighting The Akothee Foundation got tired without stepping into Turkana. Charity is a calling it’s not a duty.

She added: “You can’t apply to be a philanthropist. It’s never studied in school, if you were not born a giver, you can’t even buy kindness. Not everyone is humble, people are just broke. Money doesn’t change people. It reveals the inner them.”
