August 27, 2019

Detectives from Parklands, Nairobi have in their custody three suspects accused of defrauding a couple in Westlands out of Sh2 million.

The three are Titus Fedha, Haji Shariff and Suleiman Mzava. According to the DCI, the trio allegedly posed as witchdoctors who were in a position to use ‘black magic’ to help the unnamed couple sell its property.

The suspects promised the couple that they could remove witchcraft from the said property, detectives said.

The trio then visited the couple’s residence with a briefcase containing a snake and other paraphernalia.

Together with others still at large, the suspects convinced the couple to part with the money for buying special oil to burn the snake, after which the suspects disappeared.

Detectives conducted a search at the house of Haji Shariff in Kileleshwa and recovered a suitcase containing witchcraft paraphernalia.

The suspects are set to be arraigned and charged with obtaining money by false pretences.
