The next big collabo in the 254 music scene might be between heavy-hitter Khaligraph Jones and viral sensation Stivo Simple Boy.
The ‘Mihadarati’ hitmaker says the Kayole rapper is one of the artistes he looks up to and would like to work with on a song. Stivo Simple Boy is also eyeing music acts beyond the Kenyan borders because he wants the messages in his songs to reach more people.
“I’d like to collaborate with rappers like Tanzania’s Roma Mkatoliki,” Stevo said.
“Here in Kenya, I admire Khaligraph Jones because he is too talented and I wouldn’t mind a collabo. Currently, I’ve not linked up with any of them but I’ll be dropping a collabo with a woman who is from Kibera. In Kibera, people have told me to release hit after hit. My family and friends are so excited for me.”
Meanwhile, Khaligraph Jones has taken to social media to demand better treatment of Stivo Simple Boy by the media.
“Naona Sai Kila mtu anataka Kuleta Uyu Kijana Interview kwa Show zao sababu Atawaongezea Ratings, alafu Badala ya kuongelea Mihadarati mnaanza kumuuliza kama Yeye ndio the most handsome man when he clearly stated he is not a comedian but an artist, @chipukeezy make sure All his Expenses are being catered for by anyone who wants to host him on their TV/ Radio/Blog shows, hawa watu wanapenda kuitana interview wanakutumia alafu wanawacha msanii mdogo Aende Nyumbani Njaa bila ata fare ikome Tafadhali, support them,” rallied Khaligraph Jones.
Before his newfound fame, Stivo Simple Boy has been working as a construction worker.
“I have been working as a ‘Mjengo” guy and I’m still doing that to get my daily bread. I have learnt that nothing comes easier, you have to work so had to get to where you want to be.
“Before this song(Mihadarati) came out, I had worked for 10 years while releasing songs and rehearsing when it comes to music,” said Stivo.
