Gospel musician David Kilonzo, popularly known by his stage name DK Kwenye Beat has chosen to ride the wave of his recent negative publicity about his weight.

The hitmaker, known for hits such as ‘Asusu’, ‘Furi Furi’, ‘Kereka’, and more, has been the victim of fat-shaming in social media and it was just a matter of time before it got to him.

While some of his fans are legitimately concerned about his health, a majority of his fans have been using the opportunity to poke fun at the singer.

Before the turn of the year, DK responded to the trolls on Instagram writing: “Kenyans, I hear you. I’m willing to share with you my story very soon. ??”

In another post, he writes: “The tongue has no bone, but it is strong enough to break a heart. ?. Social media is a hostile path to walk on, especially when you are not PERFECTLY created or have a body like mine. I won’t quit social media as I had intended, I will instead share my story to inspire another. ”

As promised, DK has released his new single aptly titled ‘Kijana wa Kayole’ in which he tells his story of how far he has come. He also uses the track to inspire and uplift anyone who might be in the same situation as him.

While the single does not necessarily address his weighty issue(no pun intended), it is receiving positive reviews from fans.

This video was shot by DirectorDambiz in Kayole estate. The audio is produced by Teddy B and song written by Kelele Takatifu’s Moji ShortBabaa.
