Police in Eldoret have arrested twenty-four students allegedly caught having sex, smoking and binge drinking.

The students from various schools were arrested on Wednesday while at a birthday party in Kapsoya estate.  Six of the students climbed over the wall of the compound and escaped.

Police, acting on a tip-off from residents, raided the house and found drugs, condoms, and mattresses.

The gate was locked when the police arrived forcing them to use a milkman from the estate as bait to access the house.

Confirming the arrest, Kapsoya OCS Daniel Sindindi said the students’ parents were summoned to assist with investigations.

“We are investigating the incident. We are also looking for the owner of the house where the students were gathered,” said Sidindi.

“The students are suspected to have been engaging in immorality like sex and drinking alcohol,” added Sidindi.

The latest incident comes over a year after  500 students were arrested at a disco hall in Eldoret, on suspicion of engaging in sex and drug abuse.

A raid conducted on Sam’s Discotheque by The Alcohol Drinks Control Board recovered rolls of bang, condoms, and alcohol.

During the raid, the lights of the hall had been switched off, allegedly to allow the students to engage in sex.

Last year, fourteen students were arrested having sex, smoking bhang and drinking alcohol at a rented house in Kabati estate, Naivasha.
