If you are one of those people who depend on motorbikes as a means of transport especially at night, I’ve got bad news for you. Nairobi police chief, Benson Kibue has directed that all motorbikes should cease their operations at 8.00 pm. Those who will be caught operating past the set time risk arrest.
“We have decided to stop their operations from 8p.m, and they should know that they will be arrested if they are found working after the set time, ” he said when he received five motorbikes from the Chinese Embassy at the Kilimani police station.
Kibue says that the move is a bid to stop the increasing cases of armed gunmen attacking motorbike operators at night. Other measures include increased police checks on the roads and patrols in estates.
