After Nameless announced his plans to return to the music scene after a two year hiatus, another Kenyan artist is planning a comeback. The Beast from the East aka Big pin has a new track dubbed, ‘hapo sawa’.
The musician established himself in the Kenyan music scene with hits such as ‘Tera moss’, and ‘bamba’. His breakout album, ‘ Ogopa 2-strictly for the hanyee in you’, had the self titled song ‘big pin’. The single propelled his name to the bigwig league of Kenyan music and he is believed to be among the pioneers of Kenyan urban music together with Ogopa dj stars, the late E-Sir and K-Rupt.
Big Pin, real name Chrispin Mwangale, survived a grisly road accident in October 2013 and is now ready to add to his collection of hits such as benteba, let me pumzika, breath in breath out.
Speaking about his new jam in an interview with mdundo, Big pin said:
It’s actually a funny story how this song came about, my boys and I were out partying then this fine chic just walked by and we said hapo sawa…which is the term we use to compliment anything or anyone and of course that’s how the song got the title. “I have lot in store for my fans this year I have been doing shows all over the region over the past few years and doing farming on the side, which is a big income generator especially here in Kenya”.
