Last weekend, Jimmy Gait released what can be termed as the biggest music video in Kenya’s Gospel music industry. The ‘makekes’ video is said to have cost him about 2.3 million shillings. The video, which was shot in South Africa, has come under huge criticism with some people saying that the singer did not get value for his money.
Jimmy Gait has come out to defend the video saying that he got what he paid for and that he was impressed with it.
“You can never compromise on quality, and the fact that the video was well filmed and directed according to our expectations make us happy to have spent the much we did.”
He also defended the single shot style the director of the video used saying they were the in thing.
‘Single shot videos are the current in-thing and that is why we picked on what is trending. Videos like Diamond’s remix featuring Davido and Blurred lines by Robin Thicke are a few of the videos that already hit it big yet they had such backgrounds. ’
