A radio presenter who has for years been rumoured to be gay was on Saturday feted during the inaugural Kenya Gay and Lesbian Awards (KeGALA), which was held at Charter Hall in Nairobi.
This is the first time the presenter admitted being gay, though to a small select group of individuals. Reportedly, the presenter attended the function with his lover of foreign origin.
Also present at the ceremony was a presidential hopeful, who has recently faced accusations of being a lesbian. Several media personalities were also in attendance at the ceremony which was jointly sponsored by Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (NGLHRC). The ceremony aimed at awarding lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexual, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) individuals for their contributions to the Kenyan society.
