“Wacha Wivu…” Atwoli Slams Nyakundi for Reporting his Lavish Lifestyle to KRA

The recent announcement that the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) will be monitoring Kenyans on social media in a bid to nab big-spending tax evaders has caused quite the stir among internet users.

In the social media, we have some people posting some nice things. You would see some posting nice houses, cars, taking their families to nice places and so on. Here, we are not sleeping, when we see those, we see taxes.

We have our officers looking, they have gadgets. They key in very quickly (the number plate) to check. We are working exceptionally hard,” said KRA Commissioner General Githii Mburu.

Following the announcement, blogger Cyprian Nyakundi on Tuesday alerted the taxman about Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli and his extravagant lifestyle.

The controversial blogger shared a video in which Atwoli and his wife Mary Kilobi were on a cruise at the Kenyan Coast.

“Hi @KRACare, kuna suspects hapa,” Nyakundi tweeted.

This caught the attention of the outspoken COTU boss who replied to Nyakundi’s tweet, telling him to work hard so that he can also enjoy the nice things in life.

“Nyakundi, this might be you in the future if only you focus on your life, and worked hard, and not waking up to troll others on social media.

“Envy is one of the 7 deadly sins. I want you to live longer. Wacha wivu, amka asubuhi na mapema, chapa kazi. Alafu lipa ushuru,” reads a tweet from Atwoli’s official Twitter account.
