Firebrand politician Babu Owino is back to his ‘dirty’ politicking ways ahead of the Kibra parliamentary by-elections.

The controversial Embakasi East MP on Sunday sent out a warning shot to Jubilee’s candidate for the seat, McDonald Mariga, but the choice of Babu Owino’s words in his message has ruffled feathers on social media.

In a post on social media, Babu congratulated the ODM flagbearer in the Kibra by-elections Imran Okoth, brother to the late Ken Okoth. Babu also announced that he will be taking charge of the polls to ensure that the ODM candidate clinches the seat.

“Congratulations to Bernard Okoth Imran for winning the Kibra nominations. I want to inform the public that I will be in-charge of Kibra by-election and I will ensure that ODM candidate wins,” said Babu.

The former SONU leader went ahead to use some distasteful analogies in a bid to intimate the retired footballer Mariga to drop out of the race.

Babu told the former Harambee Stars midfield enforcer to stick to matters football because he [Babu] will humiliate him and his political mentor, who is perceived to be Deputy President Willian Ruto.

“Mariga hauna bahati when I’m in charge better step aside because the political wheel will molest you. Babu Owino the political beast will crash you in the by-elections. You will lose and be humiliated with your political mentor. We love you as Kenyans Mariga but football loves you more, better stick to it. Umeingiza kichwa kwa matako ya ndovu ukifikiria ina asali,” wrote Babu as he welcomed the inexperienced Mariga into the murky side of dirty politics.

The Kibra by-election is set for November 7, 2019.
