On Tuesday, Fridah joined her husband at Donholm Primary School where they launched an empowerment initiative for women in the constituency.
Fridah, who is the Patron of the Table Banking programme, also led the distribution of bales of Unga to the more than 1,000 women who attended the forum.
“I want to tell my husband, and I know I usually tell him this in the house but public praise is also important; ‘babe, you are doing a good job. You’re doing a wonderful job.’ I’m usually with him and I hear him when he scolds contractors about such things as stalled road projects,” she stated.
Adding, “He loves you and is committed to working for you.”
Mrs Ongili further challenged women in Embakasi East to take table banking seriously as it will enable them to prosper social-economically.
In his address, Babu Owino distanced the initiative from politics saying it was a purely development-oriented project.
“There is no ODM or Jubilee or Wiper in this project; there is no tribalism of Luo or Kikuyu or Kamba in this… this is about development and progress of our women. Anybody who wants to politic can wait for 2022,” he stated.
