A 40-year-old man took his own life in Ol Kalou town after defiling a minor.
Godfrey Kuria committed suicide on Tuesday to avoid the wrath of angry villagers who accused him of defiling a minor at Quarry area within the township.
According to the minor’s father, he arrived home for lunch and found her nine-year-old daughter looking traumatized and inquired what was ailing her.
“She was unable to talk but her elder brother narrated how the suspect had invited his sister to her house,” said the father.
His son said that the suspect lured the minor with sweets, locked the house, and proceeded to defile her.
“My neighbor got suspicious but my daughter refused to talk to her, she only narrated the ordeal to her brother,” said the father.
When confronted by the father and residents baying for his blood, the suspect locked himself in his house and was later found hanging from the roof.
