Rapper Brian Ouko Omollo aka Khaligraph Jones, born and raised in Nairobi’s notorious Eastlands area has never been shy to revisit his roots.
With his star currently shining brighter than ever before, the ‘Micasa Sucasa’ rapper appears to be on a mission to remain grounded to his humble beginnings and remind himself of how far he has come since he burst onto the scene in 2009 after he won the Kenyan Edition of the Channel O Emcee Africa competitions at the age of 19.
Over the weekend, he went back to his former high school for what looks like a documentary shoot..details are still scanty on the project.
While at his former school, Brucewood School, Khali sat in the same spot he used to sit about 8 years ago and was soon overwhelmed with emotion.
“The fact that I’m here today means a lot to me. This place reminds me of how it all started. It reminds me of my humble beginnings and I have to say I’m happy..this gold..eish..damn,” says Khali in a short Instagram clip.
