Seems that Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has inspired more than the youth in Kenya. Lupita has been making headlines in the international scene not only for her acting, but also for her fashion. She has shown that we can actually go beyond borders and dream bigger than local awards.
Now, Wyre has decided to heighten his goals and after being nominated as the world’s best male artiste in the World Music Awards, the reggae sensation is now eyeing a grammy nomination before the end of the year.
Speaking to Citizen TV’s Lilian Muli, on the One On One segment, Wyre said that his aim apart from winning a grammy, was to open up East Africa to the international reggae market.
“I really wanna put East Africa on the international map. I wanna see East African artists headlining International Reggae Music Festivals and I wanna wave the Kenyan flag high out there. I wanna see if I can go for a Grammy Nomination.”
That’s the spirit Wyre, the only direction we are headed is to the top.
