PHOTOS – Thousands Turn Up to Bid Farewell to Fallen ‘Mugiithi’ Icon Salim Junior

JUNIORFans of the late Paul Mwangi alias Salim Junior turned up in huge numbers to pay tribute to the fallen Mugithi legend in Subukia on Tuesday.
Top Kikuyu musicians, media personalities, church leaders and politicians graced the funeral ceremony for the musician considered to have revolutionised Kikuyu music through his renditions of both secular and gospel tunes.
The feted Mugithi singer passed on January 22nd while undergoing treatment at Nakuru Memorial Hospital.
Uhuru Kenyatta, on Monday February 1st made a contribution of Ksh 500,000 towards Salim Junior’s funeral. He was joined by a host of other Kenyan musicians who made contributions to give  the mugithi pioneer a fitting send-off. And fitting it was!
