A drinking spree between friends turned tragic on Wednesday night after a man was stabbed to death for reportedly sipping his friend’s beer at a bar in Bondo, Siaya County.
The deceased, Fredrick Ochieng, died after he was stabbed twice by his friend, Ian Omondi, during the 1 am incident at Wich-Lum beach.
Wich-Lum Beach Management Chairman, Peter Were Ajulu, said the two engaged in a quarrel before Ochieng, 23, forcefully sipped Omondi’s beer.
Omondi, 22, is then said to have drawn out a knife stabbed Ochieng in the chest and stomach, leading to his death due to excessive bleeding.
Nyaguda sub-location assistant chief Edwin Juma Owuor confirmed the attack saying investigations into the incident were underway.
He said the body of the deceased was moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
