H_art the Band Accuse Organisers of Wizkid’s Concert of Disrespect and Unprofessionalism

The poor treatment local music acts go through during concerts featuring foreign acts has once again reared its ugly head.

Barely a month after Fena Gitu complained over being mistreated at the Omarion concert in June, H_art The Band have shared their story.

The boys were performers at Wizkid’s concert hosted by Barbeque Live (BBQ Live) at the KICC last Saturday. What was supposed to be a great performance by the hitmakers, however, turned horribly wrong due to mistreatment.

The ‘Uliza Kiatu’ hitmakers have taken to social media to rant.

“We were so excited – it was going to be a good night or so we thought. We didn’t know exactly what time we were performing – sounds unprofessional yes ?!? Truth is since the day before we had tried to inquire but no one was willing to tell – we were being taken round in circles.

At 7pm we get a call from an anonymous person that we are supposed to be on stage in 5min. Ps: we are still at home so we request for some time because there’s nothing we can do. This person threatens to cancel our performance if we don’t get there ASAP,” wrote H_art the Band.

They added: “We get there and from the main entrance the security officers start bad mouthing us and talking trash.”

“At the backstage entrance, the person handling the artist decides to freeze our whole team.Apparently, she doesn’t know why we need a Drummer for the performance ati the backstage is for artist’s only.”

⚠LoNG POST ALERT ⚠Good Morning Beautiful people ? it’s unlike us to complain or B*@£* but, Never have we ever come out of a performance angry #truth ? it’s been a tough decision to make on whether to tell or not to tell Because Real ninjas are not snitches?On that note still, someone once said, ” Bad things happen because Good People don’t speak out. ..” #Confused ? Anywho, warevaa warevaa Here Goes ? Last Saturday Night, these NinjAs were on top of the World ready to rock the stage at BBQ LiVE ( @bbqliveke ) Yaani ,we were so excited – it was going to be a good night or so we thought ? We didn’t know exactly what time we were performing – sounds unprofessional yes ?!? Truth is since the day before we had tried to inquire but no one was willing to tell – we were being taken round in circles *inserts merry-go-round pic* ? No worries, no one was going to kill our good vibes ? At 7pm we get a call from an anonymous person that we are supposed to be on stage in 5min ? Ps: we are still at home so we request for some time because there’s nothing we can do – Kayole-leshwa hakuna Uber-chopper apparently ?it’s then that This person threatens to cancel our performance if we don’t get there ASAP ? This phone call immediately alerts us to put on our Hater shades on ,it was going to be a Long ride*inserts Limousine emoji – get it?!? LongRide* ? We get there and from the main entrance the security officers start bad mouthing us_& talking trash ⚠OMG;!;! The Hater shades almost came off for a second ⏰ We readjusted them ,swallowed a huge lump of hate _& put our chins up – nothing else mattered now but the show ahead? Normally, such disrespect is followed by some Kayole-leshwa street madness but we had saved our energies for a better purpose? The drama doesn’t stop here?At the backstage entrance ,the person handling the artist decides to freeze our whole team ? ?PART 2?it wasn’t worth all the fuss to try to get in?The more we were debating Hapo,the more the vibe was getting worse – the disrespect was becoming a tit-bit too much _& the Shades couldn’t hold on much longer ? As per our agreement,we had 1hr on stage _& just to be safe we had a set of 45min #FeelingWise?Woi!;!! Shock on us, on the 30th min some MC starts speaking in between our set ? We were on our Last nerve ? The drama doesn’t stop Hapo ?we decide,’ it’s been a good show ,let’s put everything aside and have some Fun ‘ ? Great Plan ,Right ?!? WronG – just as we exit the backstage a security officer confronts a practising dancer and warns her that, if he finds her dancing again Hapo backstage ,he was going to throw her out ?Woi!;!! Kumbe, the night just began? At the V.i.P entry some guy comes _& says that we are not be allowed entry into the event ⚠ WoW !!;! LoveLy, just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse ? Apparently, we needed tags⚠ so, @kenchezmuya goes to pick our tags from our reference guy _& geuss what he tells him ati ,” what tags?!? You have already performed ,what else do you expect from us – Go Home . ..”WHAAAAAAT!!?! ? Long story short, A little respect goes a long way ? We don’t do Music for fun .we take this S*@# seriously ? What’s the need of getting into an agreement you are so sure you can’t make work ⚠ if you don’t need this ninjas at you event it’s simple, don’t invite us over #PerioD ?Don’t spoil such a great event with poor handling of artist or poor Planning – Get the right people to handle your event ⚠Yaani, If only our mama didn’t raise us well woi!!! ? We don’t really know or understand what was going on with the organisers that day but trust us when we say, next time someone shows that kind of disrespect- we won’t be as LiberaL #truth ? Learn to keep your word or don’t just say anythinG ?it takes two to tango _& the only thing that can build this industry is if we work together and accord each other the respect they deserve in their line of duty ? ⚠PART 3 #TheFinalChapter⚠So Much has been said about the @bbqliveke event Last Saturday?Feelings have been poured and we truly thank our fans for standing with us and showing us that at the end of the day whatever matters most is what content you put out♠ One thing tho’ that stands out for us is the simple fact that ;Elections are here already,Yes ?And, judging from people’s reactions plus that night’s happenings; private security firms just follow their client’s rules without questioning a cent or so it seems?With that in mind answer us this; what happens then when a distraught someone with bad intentions hires them _& gives them funny funny instructions followed by big monies ??? Let’s not stoop so low as to not having our very own work ethics and principles ♠ Dont accept to be used by anyone because ,After all is said and done ,we all do need each other?
