One of the constant scenes whenever demonstrations are held is the burning of car tyres.
We’ve been told a million times how burning of tyres weakens the tarmac eventually leading to a pothole, but I guess the thrill is too much not to have.
While Cord has been holding demos in Nairobi and Raila’s strongholds of Nyanzan, Western and Coast, Eastern has been curiously quiet.
Being the stronghold of Cord principal Kalonzo Musyoka, failure of Ukambani to join the Anti-IEBC demos has been an exciting phenomenon to political observers.
Apparently, they just simply can’t bring themselves to burning tyres. Watch Machakos governor Alfred Mutua explain why.
