Winnie Odinga spoke about settling down, revealing why she is not in any rush to get married and have children.
The East African Legislative Assembly member said in a recent interview that her family has been asking her to start a family.
The last-born daughter of opposition leader Raila Odinga said her mother in particular has been asking her to get married over the last couple of years.
“My mother started (the marriage talk) a couple of years ago but I told her to cool down on that talk,” Winne said.
The 33-year-old says she is still young and enjoying her life and in no hurry to start a family.
Winnie noted that with modern technology and science, she could even get a child at 80 years.
“I am young. I’m having fun. I’m in my 30s living life…There is a lot of science these days I can have a child when I am 80,” she said.
The BrickHouse Counsel CEO disclosed that she is currently single for the first time in nine years. She lamented that she is yet to find a confident Kenyan man.
“I have not found the right person…when I meet them, they start by being confident, kidogo kidogo politics, kidogo kidogo baba (Raila) calls me and they get shocked. I am yet to find that confident Kenyan man,” Winnie said.
She added: “I am still looking, you never know, but especially a Kenyan man. I don’t mind other cultures, but just somebody who understands me.”
