Leader of Opposition Raila Odinga has intimated that former IEBC commissioners Wafula Chebukati, Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu tried to solicit a bribe from him.

Raila was responding to Chebukati’s testimony last week, when he told a tribunal that Azimio members Raphael Tuju, former Busia Senator Amos Wako and advocate Kyalo Mbobu tried to bribe the commissioners to moderate the presidential election results.

Speaking on Sunday during the Jacaranda Rally, Raila disclosed that the IEBC commissioners visited his home.

The Azimio leader alleged that commissioners Abdi and Boya asked him for “something”.

Raila said he has proof of their visit, and challenged the commissioners to tell Kenyans what they wanted from him.

Bwana Chebukati anasema kuna watu ambao walikuwa wanataka kumhonga. Hata wale wenzake Bwana Guliye na Bwana Molu. Nataka niwaulize mlikuja kwangu kufanya nini? Waliniomba nini? Niko na picha yao wakicheza nitatoa,” Odinga threatened.

The former Prime Minister also claimed the IEBC commissioners visited Raphael Tuju in his home. Raila said he has video evidence to back his claims.

Odinga insisted that the Chebukati three belong in jail.

Elsewhere, Raila told President Ruto to accept he lost the August 2022 presidential elections.

Speaking at the Jesus Teaching Ministry in Donholm, Nairobi on Sunday, Raila referred to Ruto as ‘Zakayo Mtoza Ushuru’ over the high taxation Kenyans are facing since he took over.

Raila told Ruto to leave State House immediately so he can occupy it as the rightfully elected President.

“Accept that you were defeated in the election, leave State House for Baba to get in. We are speaking the truth, we do not want war, and we do not want threats. We have our rights as Kenyans, and they can not be snatched by a hawk, Kenyans deserve a leader that they elected,” he said.

Raila also dismissed the plan by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate claims of rigging in the 2022 polls.

“I have seen DCI (Mohamed Amin) saying he wants to conduct an investigation. DCI, you are an employee of Ruto, you can not conduct investigations,” he said.

Raila said the truth can only be revealed if Azimio is allowed to scrutinize the Independence Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers.
