Senior citizens residing at ‘Nyumba ya Wazee’ in Kasarani, Nairobi County were treated to a cheerful visit by members of the State House choir.

In the spirit of Christmas and compassion for the elderly, the choir on Tuesday delivered gifts that included foodstuff and assorted supplies from First Lady Margaret Kenyatta to the senior citizens.

Founded in 1985, ‘Nyumba Ya Wazee’ takes care of sickly and infirm elderly persons and depends largely on the kindness and generosity of well-wishers.

It is managed by its founders, the Little Sisters of the Poor, an international congregation of Roman Catholic women.

Photos shared online showed members of the State House choir entertaining the senior citizens and putting smiles on their faces.

Some of the citizens even broke into dance as they appeared to have been bitten by the Christmas bug.

Here are the photos.
