Nairobi County Assembly minority whip Peter Imwatok surprised his mother with a house on Saturday.
The house worth Sh5 million was a gift on her birthday. Imwatok said he was appreciating her for raising him and educating the family.
“Yeah, this is my small gift to her. She has made me who I am today and I must appreciate her so much,” he said.
“Things were difficult for us as a family but through her hard work, she stood with us, took care of us despite those challenges, and I’m now happy that we can comfortably put food on the table.”
Imwatok grew up in Makongeni, and he said affording a meal was a nightmare.
He worked as a security officer to pay his school fees before venturing into business and then politics.
