Police in Busia County have launched a hunt for a man who allegedly killed his neighbour on Tuesday.
Confirming the 8 pm attack, Nasewa Location Chief Stephen Wawire said the suspect identified as Geoffrey Mukhwaya accosted the 41-year-old man while he (victim) was riding a motorbike.
The Chief said the two men were embroiled in a dispute over a woman who was married to the suspect before she moved out to live with the deceased.
“The two were fighting over a woman who was once married to Geoffrey but we understand that she left him,” said the Chief.
Wawire said the suspect hacked the deceased several times on his head with a panga. The victim died on the spot and was found lying in a pool of blood by police who arrived at the scene.
The body was taken to Busia County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
