As Kenyans continue to come to terms with the fact that they may have been consuming sugar laced with chemical elements, the Parliamentary Committee is still probing the entry of contraband sugar into the country.
Health Permanent Secretary Peter Tum told the Committee on Tuesday that a staggering 60 percent of the imported sugar tested has been found unfit for human consumption.
With such numbers, the sugar scandal has ultimately raised suspicion among Kenyans that other basic products in the market could be unfit for human consumption.
One such Kenyan is about to go viral on social media after detecting traces of mercury in his maize meal. The guy, who happens to be from the ugali-loving Luhya community, made an urgent call to Interior CS to report his suspicions.
