Another shocking rape incident has been reported in a Nairobi school, this time at the Maranatha Primary School in Kawangware.

A class eight pupil at the institution was allegedly raped over the weekend by one of her teachers.

The pupil, who is set to sit for her KCPE exams in a few months, was reported missing on Saturday evening after she was sent by her mother to a nearby kiosk to buy dinner.

The girl’s mother, Imelda Ambani, said she began searching for her daughter after she took too long to return home.

“I suspected something was wrong and searched for her the whole night but could not find her until Monday morning,” Ambani told Citizen Digital.

The minor claimed that the man lured her to his house on the pretext of helping her with past exam papers for revision.

She recalled seeing books bearing a Lavington Secondary School logo strewn all over a table inside the house where he allegedly raped her.

Reports indicate that she was locked up in the teacher’s house from Saturday evening and only managed to escape on Monday, June 4.

The victim’s mother has since recorded a statement at Muthangari Police Station after getting a medical report from the Nairobi Women’s Hospital.
