An unlikely encounter with a curious photographer is proving to be the silver lining in the lives of “Chokoraa” couple Sammy “Blackie” and Virginia.

The street lovebirds are the talk of the town after photographer Johnson Muchiri shared their story on his blog, Muchiri Frames.

As the story goes, Muchiri met Sam and Virginia on Valentine’s Day at Central Park where they opened up about their street love.

Virginia, a softspoken shy girl who has been in the streets for the last two years on and off, met Blackie on the streets of Nairobi where they both lived as ‘chokoras’.

A few bumps into each other at Central Park sparked a friendship that was cemented when they later met in Majengo slums.

Inspired by their heart-warming story, Muchiri embarked on a mission to prove that love, even in it’s simplest form, doesn’t discriminate. And to help the couple celebrate Valentine’s Day, Muchiri, with support from wellwishers, gave Blackie and Virginia a makeover that has taken the internet by storm.

The lives of Blackie and Virginia are evidently undergoing a remarkable transformation, with Muchiri revealing that he has received a lot of phone calls from modelling agencies with job offers and holiday trips.

Speaking of holidays, popular tours and travel company, Bonfire Adventures, has offered an all expenses paid holiday for Blackie and Virginia.

Through their Facebook page, Bonfire invited internet users to choose the couple’s holiday destination.

“Wow..Pictures Speak a thousand words..an awwww moment… Street love by Sammy and Virginia..

Being the month of love.. As BONFIRE ADVENTURES AND EVENTS we are thinking of rewarding this amazing couple with a holiday then after that will know what next..Gani itaweza.. Tupe Maoni..**3 days flying to Maasai Mara**3 days flying to Diani **Comment with any other,” wrote Bonfire.

While some fans wanted the lovebirds rehabilitated instead, a majority felt a holiday in Diani would be ideal. For now, we can only wait and see.
