A man was Sunday beaten to a pulp after he threw a bottle at the dais during a campaign meeting by Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Nakuru Speaker Susan Kihika in Mai Mahiu, Naivasha.
The soda bottle narrowly missed the senator before irate youth descended on him with kicks and blows.
According to an eyewitness, the man had earlier thrown a stone but it went unnoticed.
The witness, Joseph Njoroge, said the culprit then threw a soda bottle inside the lorry-dias from which Sonko and Kihika addressed the people.
“This time round he was spotted. Youths who were offering security turned their fury on him, beating him seriously, before he was taken to the police station,” said Njoroge.
According to a senior police officer, the man bled profusely from several parts of his body.
He was rushed to a nearby health centre for examination.
