Diamond Platnumz has out of the blue released a new single that is fast gaining traction across East Africa.
Dubbed ‘Acha Nikae Kimya’ (Let Me Remain Silent), the single is a poem about the state of affairs in Tanzania.
The single comes amid a governement crackdown on Tanzanian artistes and President Magufuli’s recent warning to media organizations against inflammatory reporting, a day after he fired a cabinet minister who defended press freedom.
In ‘Acha Nikae Kimya’, Diamond also addresses why he has been silent and the recent arrest of rapper Nay Wa Mitego for releasing a track taking aim at the government.
