As he gets a final send-off this weekend, one of the things that will constantly remind us of the late Fidel Odinga will be his widowed wife and kid. Before his sudden demise, the former prime minister’s son was married to an Ethiopian wife named Lwam Bekele.
To marry the Ethiopian, Fidel had to make a sacrifice of leaving his religion and getting converted into the Orthodox religion before the wedding could take place. Here is a throwback photo of the initiation carried out through baptism. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
