Friends of the late G-Wiji have called out on well wishers for assistance to help the rapper get a decent send off. G-Wiji was one half of hip hop group Mashifta, and passed on earlier in the week in a hit and run accident on Thika Superhighway.
Apparently, his body has been lying at the mortuary unattended since his family cannot afford to pay for the morgue services. To make matters worse, only a handful of people have been showing up for his funeral arrangement meetings, making it an uphill task to raise a substantial amount of money. His close friends are now appealing to well wishers to assist in any way they can, to give one of Kenya’s hip hop pioneers a worthy send off.
“He may not have been a famous artiste but he deserves a decent burial,” said one of G-Wiji’s friends.
Funeral meetings are taking place at the Sarakasi dome everyday and his funeral is scheduled for Saturday 19th. Anyone who can assist would be highly appreciated. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
