Machakos County Set To Have a Sh600 Million Food Processing Plant

Kenya’s only performing governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua has plans in place to put up a food processing plant in Machakos County that will alleviate food shortage in the county while creating over 2000 jobs for Machakos youths.
Dr. Alfred was hosting investors from Nepal on Wednesday afternoon in his office and released the statement on his Facebook page.

‘This afternoon I hosted a group of investors from Nepal in my Machakos Office. The investors are members of the Chaudhary group which is regarded among the wealthiest families in Nepal and plan to pump-in between US$ 6 – 7 million to put up a food processing plant in the County.
The plant will major in processing of snacks and noodles from rice and corn with an aim of making them staples for the locals as well as subsiding the products for schools to ease school feeding programs.
Once complete, the plant will create over 2000 jobs for youths in Machakos County. The group also has interest in banking, hotel and insurance industries.’
