Royal Media Services has reportedly banned all its staff from reading the STAR newspaper in their offices. The ban was reported by the paper itself, but no reason was given.
Apparently, TV and Radio presenters should also not review the paper alongside other major dailies.
Royal Media has in its fold 13 radio stations and one TV station. It commands a big percentage of Kenya’s TV viewers and radio listeners, and their move to blackout the Star will be a blow for the Waiyaki way based media house.
RMS once had their own newspaper – The Leader, but they could not transfer their airwaves success to the paper business.
