Construction of Kenya Commercial Bank’s new headquarters in Upper Hill is well underway. The 21 floor skyscraper is up and proudly joins the ‘old and tired’ Nairobi skyline. It is located opposite Equity Bank’s small hq.
Construction started in 2011 and it was expected to be completed in early 2013, but unforeseen delays have seen it come one year late. The total cost has been slightly over Sh2 billion.
Dubbed KCB Plaza, the new building is the second tallest outside the city centre, after Rahimtulla Tower.
