Singer Ringtone’s rise to fame is a true rags to riches story. He was abandoned by his mother when he was very young forcing him to live in the streets and beg for food. His big break came when he moved to Mombasa in an attempt to find a white sugar mummy. Instead, he ran into a Christian man who advised him to get saved.
The former street urchin rose to fame when he collaborated with rapper SK blue in the song Pamela. He went ahead to release hits such as ‘Mungu Yupo’, Talanta yangu’, ‘Gospel inabamba’ and many more. During the last general elections, Ringtone’s song Jubilation was adopted by the Jubilee coalition and used in their campaigns. Ringtone is said to have made millions from the campaigns.
His massive wealth has been source for numerous rumours, among them that he’s a drug dealer, rumours he has refuted.  He says that his money comes from selling his cds and t – shirts . He also says that people often give him gifts.
