A pilot with JetBlue airlines went berserk and yelled at his passengers to say the lord’s prayer. Clayton Frederick Osbon, 49, screamed ‘say your prayers, say your prayers’ as he ran down the aisle. He is also claimed to have shouted, ‘Iraq, al-Qaeda, terrorism, we’re all going down.’ The captain had gone to the toilet only to find the cockpit door locked with a different code. His co-pilot took the decision to lock him out after getting concerned following weird activity by the Pilot in the cockpit. He observed him randomly flipping switches in the cockpit, clearly not knowing what was what.
Osbon has been JetBlue’s captain for 12 years. After his clear mental break down, passengers pinned him down for about 20 minutes as the plane landed at the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.
A passenger is quoted as saying,
‘The real hero here is the co-pilot, he had the instincts to recognize that something was going wrong in the cockpit and he managed to somehow persuade him out of the cockpit.
‘That really was what completely averted what could have been a tragedy yesterday.’
The captain is now under medicare in the custody of FBI.
