After what befell Megaupload, its competitor filesonic has disabled its file sharing service. The air of uncertainty over where the authorities will strike next may be the main motivating factor behind the new development.

FileSonic, which describes itself as the “Unlimited Storage Company,” said in a statement posted on its website that it would only allow users to access only the files they have uploaded.
“All sharing functionality of FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.”

UPDATE:  FileServe and Uploaded.to have also cut off sharing of files.
