Jimmi Wanjigi, a son to former Cabinet Minister Maina Wanjigi has sued Jeff Koinange and Tony Gachoka for remarks the latter made on Jeff Koinange Live, Nation FM and later on a YouTube video.
Gachoka linked Wanjigi to the Anglo-Leasing scandal.
Also enjoined in the suit is Standard CEO Sam Shollei, TV station KTN, Nation Media Group and YouTube.
The video sharing giant is listed as the 7th defendant, probably because it hosts the ‘defamatory’ video.
YouTube itself has no office in Kenya, but its parent company Google may find itself in trouble once again, as was the case when Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru enjoined it in a suit against Kenyan Daily Post, which is hosted on Blogger – a platform owned by Google.
For now we’ll just have to wait and see if anything comes out of this.
Here’s the letter published in yesterday’s dailies.
