It has been a very interesting 2 nights of football – The UEFA Champions League Semi Finals.

Every football fan and their uncle predicted an Ajax vs Barcelona final next month, but instead we are having an all English Tottenham vs Liverpool final.

On Tuesday night, Jurgen Klopps’ Liverpool pulled one of the greatest comebacks ever, if not the greatest. Coming down 3 goals against arguably the best team in the world, Liverpool did the unthinkable and scored 4 times. Not much could Messi do at Anfield.

Come Wednesday night, and obviously taking inspiration from Liverpool’s comeback, Tottenham did the same by coming back from a 3-0 aggregate score, to win the match and proceed to the finals on a goal advantage.

Their case was more dramatic because the final goal, the one that made them proceed, came in the absolutely last second. It was literally the last kick of the match. It was a goal that left Ajax players devastated and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino on his knees in tears.

For the finals, Victor Wanyama, a Kenyan will likely appear for his club.

Another player with Kenyan roots, but definitely not Kenyan is Divok Origi. He was integral in Liverpool’s win having scored two goals. Origi is a Belgium national, but his father was indeed Kenyan. Which is why KOT fondly refer to him as Kenyan.

Even Deputy President William Ruto could not escape this allure of branding him Kenyan and congratulating him as so.

”Congratulations to @VictorWanyama and Divock Origi for playing starring roles for @SpursOfficial and @LFC respectively in a successful @ChampionsLeague campaign. #UCLfinal” he tweeted.

Well, let’s hope for a cracking final in Madrid.
