Victoria Rubadiri is undoubtedly one of the most bankable news presenters in the region. With a media career spanning over a decade, the Citizen TV news anchor has had stints at top media houses in the country.
When she’s not reading the news on TV, Victoria is a doting mother to a teenage daughter, Neema. While not a lot is known about Neema, Victoria Rubadiri has in the past opened up about how she got pregnant at the age of 18.
She was so scared that she contemplated procuring an abortion, but luckily, her father ruled it out and Victoria’s entire family helped her through it.
Initially, her baby’s father rejected the pregnancy but with time they were able to build a cordial relationship.
In 2010, Victoria and her daughter relocated from New Jersey, US to Kenya. She explained her choice to leave USA saying she wanted to make a better life for her daughter.
And as the world marked Mother’s Day over the weekend, Victoria dedicated it to Neema. She penned a beautiful letter on her Instagram and followed it up with a rare and never before seen of Neema when she was just one week old.
She wrote;
“Dear Neema,
You see this picture? You were a week old, I was 18 and scared out of my wits. You were perfection, I was a wreck. I fought for a long time with embracing the identity of being a mother because I felt I wasn’t ready. Truth is, you are never going to be ready! I learned that with time as you grew and became a different human being at every stage. I grew with you, made my mistakes but pushed forward. You healed me with your unconditional love. Though that admiration in your eyes has turned into occasional side eye ? now that you are a teenager. ?We’ve made it this far Dudu and you’ve turned out pretty amazing. Babu, Mama and Aunty have a lot to do with that. On this #MothersDay I thank God for you because you truly are a gift from Him. I pray you thrive in this life. I pray you are a light in your generation. I pray you are a beacon of hope in this world. -Love Mommy?”
