Jeff Koinange: My First Girlfriend was Japanese

June 6, 2018

Oh My Wamae! Jeff Koinange had his first girlfriend at the tender age of six.

The popular TV and radio personality made the startling revelation during his Hot 96 morning radio show with comedian Jalang’o- Jeff and Jalas.

The 52-year old disclosed that his first flame was a Japanese girl named Yoko Seki whom he met back in 1972.

“Seki’s dad worked for JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency),” said Jeff.

“So Yoko and her sister Megumi were very good friends with the Japanese Ambassador’s kids who used to drive in a big black Royce. Yoko and her sister would always join them because I think they lived somewhere close to each other,” recounted Jeff.

The Jeff Koinange Live talk show host further recalled how “Yoko was a sweet little kid, so we struck a talking relationship. And I remember one day she was dying to talk to me and she wrote me a letter but she wrote it in conjunction with some other girls.

“And in the letter, they put some chocolates you know, like a chocolate bar and it was the sweetest thing I had ever seen.”

Their little love story, however, came to a heartbreaking end because Jeff Koinange left the school for another.

They, however, reconnected later on in life when they ran into each other and formed a common WhatsApp group to reunite with their former classmates.

“We met at the groups meeting and that is where I told them, that Yoko Seki was my girlfriend,” said Jeff.

He added that Seki’s family still lives in Kenya and the girl Jeff once dated is still single.
