Polish cyclist Pawel Poljanski has uploaded an image to social media showing just how hard and how taxing the Tour de France event is.

Shortly after completing the 16th stage of what’s known as the world’s toughest road cycling race, Poljanksi uploaded an image of his legs, revealing the tension of the muscles and the general physical exhaustion his body has been put through.

The 27-year-old captioned it “After sixteen stages I think my legs look little tired”.

Poljanski, who cycles for the Bora – Hansgrohe team, is currently in 75th position and one hour and 55 minutes behind leader Chris Froome of Team Sky.

12th placed Kiwi George Bennett was forced to withdraw from ‘Le Tour’ after falling ill during the rest day.
