Maina Kageni’s infamous loud mouth got the better of him Wednesday when he inadvertently let the cat out of the bag about his radio counterpart Carol Radull’s marriage.
The Classic 105 FM presenter confirmed rumors that Carol Radull and Mike Njiru are no longer married.
He made the revelation on Classic 105 FM’s Breakfast Show during his trademark conversations with listeners. The topic of discussion Wednesday centered on the institution of marriage, with Maina and Mwalimu King’ang’i posing the question on the necessity of a marriage setting to women.
“A lady said that she has been with a man for eight years and have kids and a career, (but the two were not married – and that the lady was okay with the arrangement),” twitted Classic 105 FM.
“The new trend is women having a man for convenience. Ladies, is this all you want?” read another tweet.
The question attracted reactions both on twitter and on air, with one fan citing Carol Radull as a good example a “great” union.
It was then that Maina dropped the bombshell: “Breaking news! Carol Radull is no longer married.”
The revelation confirmed a report by Pulse Magazine early this month which suggested Carol’s marriage was on the rocks.
Sources close to her told Pulse that the two have been having issues with their marriage and that Radull had even dropped the Njiru name from all her applications.
Posts by Radull also suggested that she was moving on to better things.
“To find peace, sometimes you have to be willing to lose your connection with the people, places, and the things that create all the noise in your life. Sometimes you need to give up on people,”posted Radull.
Neither Carol Radull nor Mike Njiru has an official statement regarding the status of their union.
The two tied the knot in a lavish wedding at Ocean Beach resort in Diani in 2009.
