Kenya’s top boy band Sauti Sol concluded its Live and Die in Afrika tour across major Kenyan towns in Mombasa one weekend ago.
They are set to perform in Mozambique and South Africa as part of an extension of their just-concluded Kenyan edition.
The just concluded tour which took almost a year to prepare and about six weeks to pull off was a major success and the first of it’s kind in Kenya. As such, a lot of money was pumped into it.
According to Sauti Sol manager, Marek Fuchs, the tour used over Sh 63 Million.
“It took almost a year to prepare and pull off the show. We used over Sh63 million for the tours. We are glad we had sponsors who supported us and ensured it was a success,” said Fuchs.
He said the band has been travelling with over 100 crew members, eight trucks carrying sound systems, a tour bus, top DJs from Homeboyz and arena personnel to ensure that they deliver world-class performance.
As part of the world tour, the group performed at Azgo Festival in Mozambique on May 21. They will then be perfoming at Carfax in Johannesburg, South Africa on May 27 and Bushfire Festival in Swaziland on May 28.
