Makers of hilarious Kenyan films such as ‘House of Lungula’ and ‘Fundimentals’, Historia Films, are back with another hilarious comedy aptly titled ‘News Just In.’
Produced in cooperation with Flick7 pictures, the series features an exciting mix of experienced and new actors and revolves around the happenings inside a news channel.
The story revolves around Justine Nyota (a character played by Melissa Kiplagat), who is a news director at a ‘Kenyan TV station’ Habari Channel. She is married to James Were (Joe Kinyua) who is the channel’s main news anchor. Their marriage goes from bad to worse as she frequently stumbles upon James and his mistresses.
As their relationship deteriorates, the channel’s board, where Justine’s mother Lavenda (Lizz Njagah) is a member, makes a decision, which will not only change the balance within the station but also their personal lives.
Habari Channel hires Simon mambo (Lenana Kariba), a handsome news anchor from a rival channel. Add into the mix three nosy employees: Babu (Gerald Langiri), Veronica (Anjelah Nancie) and Flora (Asha Mutuku) and you have the recipe for an explosive comedy!
