Comedian David The Student has been accused of acquiring money under false pretense.
The complainant, Grace Mboya says the comedian owes her a total of Sh188,650.
“He borrowed the money in July last year and for some time now, I have been chasing him for it. I even gave him a repayment plan of Sh20,000 for 10 months but he still did not honour it,” Mboya told Word Is.
Last month, a fed up Grace reported the matter to Parklands Police Station where a letter was written to the Langata Police Station asking them to arrest David.
It read, “This office is investigating a case of obtaining money by false pretense against one David Kang’ong’o…This office is requesting your honourable office to help us apprehend him and once arrested, to contact this office.”
David explained saying, “I was called to Parklands Police Station where I went with my lawyer. She was told she (Grace) has no case. I don’t have her money. We were organising an event to take Diamond Platnumz to Eldoret for a concert. It was a two way arrangement in which i also lost money because the event did not happen, it failed.”
Grace added that David had promised to pay her part of the debt as late as Monday last week but he did not show up for the designated meeting.
