The layers of secrecy surrounding the upcoming Star Wars film, The Force Awakens, have been pulled back, giving fans a highly anticipated inside scoop into some of the characters.
In a behind the scenes video shoot by Vanity Fair, the magazine revealed that Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o will play a motion-capture character named Maz Kanata. As per the magazine, Kanata is a pirate with no allegiances to either the Resistance (the new name for the Rebel Alliance) or the First Order (the new Empire).
