NTV’s Yvonne Maingey will be off the screens for a year to focus on her PhD.
The news anchor who started gracing the screens as a child presenter on KTN’s Club Kiboko made the announcement on Sunday after NTV Weekend Edition. She also made the announcement on twitter giving thanks for those who have supported her.

Speaking to Nairobi News, the 27 year old explained that she is at a very critical stage of her studies.
“I have just taken a sabbatical for school as I am at a very critical stage of my studies where I need to focus more on research,” she said.
Yvonne left TV aged 17 to pursue her studies abroad. She has a law degree and a masters in environmental education.
Upon her return to the country, Yvonne enrolled at the University of Nairobi for a Climate Change PhD programme
