A Kenyan newspaper is in trouble with Mombasa based events promoter and organizer, Julia Achieng popularly known as Beyonce.
The controversial lass and founder of Coast Awards is suing the local newspaper for claiming that she is broke. According to the paper, Beyonce’s valuables were auctioned to recover rent arrears amounting to Sh 99,000.
Beyonce allegedly lived in the house of Mombasa property owner Marion Chebet in Kiembeni for five months without paying rent. According to Marion, auctioneers only got Sh8,000 from the auction because the former model had vacated the house.
Beyonce has however come out to claim that the story has damaged her reputation.
“What’s with all this nonsense, this story is all full of lies. I still live in the house and not a single belonging has been auctioned as reported.
“My reputation has been compromised and I am suing the newspaper for defamation because I wasn’t even consulted for my views on the matter. I have already furnished my lawyer with all the documentation and all am waiting is to square this in court,” Beyonce told Nairobi News.
